“Rebecca is an excellent therapist who is totally invested in her clients. She is diligent and her time spent with kids in therapy is very focused. From the time my son started working Rebecca, he has made consistent progress. He is at a level now which I did not think would be possible. Rebecca does not give up, ever. She constantly challenges her kids to attain newer heights. Her method is very structured which enables kids to learn in a consistent manner. Rebecca also ensures that parents are fully informed of their child’s progress and spends as much time as needed to answer queries. She is awesome!!”

“Please don’t make me talk!”

You can feel the eyes on you, the expectations, and then… the disappointment and the mumbling of words as the listeners excuse themselves.

Beyond the customary words and automatic phrases, it’s hard to express your ideas in an organized way.

It’s fine when you’re rolling the thoughts around in your mind. They are crystal clear, and you know exactly what you want to say. There’s a clear topic and the reasons why you feel a certain way about it.

Yet, you feel verbally paralyzed.

Your originality, the great insights, the “pearls of wisdom” are those of a creative thinker. Yet, when you open your mouth to speak them out loud, the words lack clarity and direction.

You can’t help wondering where the disconnect is. The frustration is all-consuming, mentally debilitating – until you find the strength to ask for help.

It’s not as easy as it sounds.

Some children and adults have difficulty using language effectively. Whether it’s following directions, telling a story, or planning a future event, sometimes only part of the message is understood or conveyed to our listener.

Whether it is understanding language, verbalizing your thoughts, or a combination of the two, if communicating in a thorough and complete manner is the goal, you’ve come to the right place.

I can help you become a more effective communicator – regardless of age.

By working with me, you will learn strategies that are specific to your needs.

Distinguishing important elements of a message from the details is an important skill which will help you achieve a deeper level of understanding.

You will learn to convey information with greater clarity by adding details, using enhanced vocabulary, and better grammar.

Altering vocal tone and reducing your speech rate to more clearly enunciate your speech and increase your intelligibility are skills that most people take for granted.

From working with me, you will ultimately emerge as a more effective communicator.

Meet Rebecca Thomas:

Hello! I am a licensed speech language pathologist and a certified dyslexia therapist.

With over 12 years of experience, I’ve worked in a variety of settings including early Intervention, school, hospital, nursing home, and private practice. In each of these areas, I realized that our quality of life is vastly improved when we are equipped with good speech and language skills.

Although we usually depend on oral /spoken language, written language skills become increasingly important in the school setting and which we eventually take with us into adulthood and the professional setting.

Let’s talk about how your life or the life of a loved one can improve with additional speech skills.
